ILM was chosen to design a custom light box display for a new Cartier store in Miami, FL. The new store is located in the Miami Design District. It’s a unique neighborhood dedicated to innovative fashion, design, architecture and dining. The area was transformed into a vibrant destination for residents and visitors by presenting the best shopping within an architecturally significant context. The vision for the rejuvenated Design District was responsive to it’s historic, urban and tropical roots. The entire development embodies a dedication to the unity of design, fashion, art and architecture.
The architect we worked with was looking for a light box to fill three windows at the store entrance. ILM manufactures backlit style light boxes all the time but this project had a few unique requirements. The ILM team did some brainstorming and came up with a plan to meet the needs of the architect and customer. Since the light boxes were going to be displayed in the store’s front window the customer requested that we locate the access to change the graphics in the back of the light box. In order to accommodate this request we manufactured three custom size light boxes to fit inside the window mullion with swinging doors. The LED’s were attached to the doors so it was still easy for the store employees to open the back of the box and change out the graphics as needed. The end result was a bright and functional LED display.
