The National Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the United States, and as part of the Smithsonian Institution, does not charge admission. The zoo is a massive 163-acre park located in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1889 with the mission to provide leadership in animal care, science, education, sustainability and visitor experience. It’s home to nearly 400 different species including their best known residents – the giant pandas, Tian Tian, Mei Xiang, and Bao Bao. The Zoo is one of Washington’s most popular tourist destinations and is open every day of the year except Christmas. They welcome up to two million visitors each year.
ILM was chosen to provide light boxes for some of the concession areas. The light boxes were used as menu boards since they offer quick, easy one person poster changes. The menu items and prices can vary so they needed an economical solution. The digital prints that are displayed in the light boxes are not only easy to change out but also inexpensive to print. That makes updating an easy task! Our light box provided the perfect solution. Let us know if you’re working on a project that includes light boxes. We are happy to answer questions or provide custom quotes.
